
About the South Florida Palm Society
The South Florida Palm Society is a not-for-profit organization
who's mission is to disseminate information about and encourage interest in Palms and the
use of those plants. The South Florida Palm Society uses it's funds to help support
local botanical gardens, individual scientific research expeditions or projects,
conservation and planting projects and educational efforts.
History
The South Florida Palm Society, chartered in 1982, is a
not-for-profit organization whose mission is to disseminate information, promote
educational programs and research projects, and encourage interest in and use of palms.
General Meetings
We invite you to attend our local Society meetings held
throughout the year, as well as our periodic field trips to interesting palm gardens and
habitats. The meetings are free and open to the public. Our regular meetings are held in
the Garden House at Fairchild Tropical Garden 10901 Old Cutler Road Coral Gables, FL 33156
at 7:30 pm. on the first Monday of every even-numbered month. Information about our
meetings and other events can also be received free of charge. To request to be added to
